শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে ছুটি বাড়ল ১২ জুন পর্যন্ত
করোনা সংক্রমণের কারণে শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে ছুটি আরেক দফা বাড়ল। এই ছুটি আগামী ১২ জুন পর্যন্ত বৃদ্ধি করা হয়েছে। মহামারি করোনার কারণে শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের চলমান ছুটি ও শিক্ষা সংক্রান্ত বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে শিক্ষামন্ত্রী দীপু মনি এক ভার্চুয়াল সংবাদ সম্মেলন এ কথা জানান। বুধবার (২৬ মে) এ সংবাদ সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করা হয়।

জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সব পরীক্ষা স্থগিত
জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীনে অনুষ্ঠিতব্য সব পরীক্ষা স্থগিত করা হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী দীপু মনি। সোমবার (১৬ মার্চ) সচিবালয়ে ব্রিফিংয়ে তিনি এ সিদ্ধান্ত জানান। এ সময় সব শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান আগামী ৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত বন্ধ রাখার কথা জানিয়েছেন তিনি।
শিক্ষামন্ত্রী বলেন, ১৮ মার্চ থেকে ৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বন্ধ থাকবে। তবে শিক্ষার্থীদের বাড়িতে থাকা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে অভিভাবকদের।
এ সময় মন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, করোনার সংক্রমণ যাতে না ছড়ায়, তাই এ সিদ্ধান্ত। কিন্তু শিক্ষার্থীরা যদি ঘরের বাইরে যায়, তাহলে এ সিদ্ধান্ত কাজে আসবে না। তাই তাদের ঘরের মধ্যে রাখার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। এখনো শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধের মতো পরিস্থিতি হয়নি, তারপরও সতর্কতামূলক ব্যবস্থার অংশ হিসেবে এ সিদ্ধান্ত। মন্ত্রিসভার বৈঠকে এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়। গ্রীষ্মের ছুটি, রোজার ছুটির সঙ্গে প্রয়োজনে এ ছুটিকে সমন্বয় করা হবে। তখন ছুটি কমে আসতে পারে।
ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্বায়ত্তশায়িত প্রতিষ্ঠান, তারা আবাসিক হল খোলা রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত বিবেচনা করবেন বলে আশা প্রকাশ করেন শিক্ষামন্ত্রী।
প্রসঙ্গত, দেশে এখন পর্যন্ত আটজনের শরীরে করোনা ভাইরাস শনাক্ত হয়েছে। কোয়ারেন্টাইনে রয়েছেন দুই সহস্রাধিক।
বিশ্বব্যাপী করোনা ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়ে এখন পর্যন্ত ৬ হাজার ৫১৫ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ ভাইরাসে আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে ৭৭ হাজার ৭৫৩ জন সুস্থ হয়েছেন।
ভাইরাসটিতে এখনও পর্যন্ত সংক্রমিত হয়েছেন ১ লাখ ৬৯ হাজার ৫১৫ জন। আক্রান্তদের মধ্যে চিকিৎসা নিচ্ছেন ৮৫ হাজার ২৪৭ জন। চিকিৎসাধীন ৭৯ হাজার ৩২৬ জনের অবস্থা স্থিতিশীল। আর ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ অবস্থায় রয়েছেন ৫ হাজার ৯২১ জন।
চীনে ভাইরাসটিতে আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন ৮০ হাজার ৮৫৯ জন; আর প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন ৩ হাজার ২১৩ জন। ইতালিতে আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন ২৪ হাজার ৭৪৭ জন এবং মারা গেছেন ১ হাজার ৮০৯ জন।
৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ
করোনাভাইরাস নিয়ে উদ্ভুত পরিস্থিতির কারণে আগামীকাল মঙ্গলবার থেকে ৩১ মার্চ পর্যন্ত দেশের সব শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ রাখার ঘোষণা দিয়েছে সরকার। আজ সোমবার শিক্ষা উপমন্ত্রী মহিবুল হাসান চৌধুরী প্রথম আলোকে এ তথ্য জানান।
এদিকে পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলায় শিক্ষার্থীদের গ্রীষ্মকালীন ছুটি এগিয়ে নিয়ে শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম সাময়িক স্থগিত ঘোষণা করেছে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ।
১৮ মার্চ থেকে ২৮ মার্চ পর্যন্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ক্লাস–পরীক্ষা সাময়িক স্থগিত করা হয়েছে। ৩৬ জন শিক্ষকের অভিমতের প্রেক্ষিতে এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।
করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমন আতঙ্কে রাজধানীর শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোতে উপস্থিতি কমে আসছিল। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, বুয়েট, চুয়েটসহ বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্লাস বর্জন শুরু করেছেন। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষকেরাও বিবৃতি দিয়ে ছুটি ঘোষণার দাবি জানিয়েছেন।
শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় এত দিন বলে আসছিল এ বিষয়ে স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী তারা ব্যবস্থা নেবে। কিন্তু গতকাল রোববার স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক বলেছেন, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান খোলা রাখা হবে নাকি বন্ধ রাখা হবে, সেটা শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের বিষয়।
শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও অভিভাবকেরা মত দিয়েছেন, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান দ্রুত বন্ধ করে দেওয়া উচিত। ইতিমধ্যে করোনা–আতঙ্কে স্কুল–কলেজ–বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীদের বড় অংশ ক্লাসে যাওয়া থেকে বিরত থাকছেন।
গতকালও রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানে উপস্থিতি কম ছিল। মতিঝিল আইডিয়াল স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ শাহান আরা বেগম গতকাল তাঁর প্রতিষ্ঠানে ৫০ থেকে ৬০ শতাংশ উপস্থিতির কথা জানান। অনেক অভিভাবক সন্তানদের স্কুলে পাঠাচ্ছেন না। ভিকারুননিসা নূন স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ ফওজিয়া বলেন, গতকাল চতুর্থ শ্রেণির প্রভাতি শাখায় উপস্থিতি কম ছিল। আর দিবা শাখায় উপস্থিতি ছিল ৫০ শতাংশের বেশি।
ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ৯৬টি বিভাগ ও ইনস্টিটিউটের মধ্যে অন্তত ৪০টির শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্লাস-পরীক্ষা বর্জন করেছেন। বুয়েটের শিক্ষার্থীরা আগের দিনের মতো গতকালও কোনো ক্লাস করেননি। রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরাও ক্যাম্পাস বন্ধের দাবি জানিয়েছেন। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টির গণযোগাযোগ ও সাংবাদিকতা বিভাগের সব বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীরা আজ থেকে অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য ক্লাস-পরীক্ষা বর্জনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন।
রাজশাহী প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়েও (রুয়েট) শিক্ষার্থী উপস্থিতি কমেছে। জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা আজ থেকে ক্লাস পরীক্ষা বর্জন করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন। ময়মনসিংহে অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সব অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীরাও ক্লাস বর্জনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন।
